Sustainability Do’s and Don't s
1.Do: Use reusable shopping bags
Did you know it takes around 450 years for a plastic bag to break down? That means every single plastic bag ever made is still out there... unless it's been burned. Pretty scary... right?
When you can, let the sunshine in to save energy and live a more eco-friendly life. And don't forget to yank the plug on electronics when you're not using them. Anything left in the wall can still consume energy.
Though food waste is biodegradable, it doesn't break down the same as it would in soil. Instead, bacteria munch on the food, producing methane. Methane is a potent greenhouse gas, with a warming potential 21 times greater than carbon dioxide.
Fast fashion and excessive consumption can have huge negative effects on the planet.Companies prioritize churning out cheap goods rapidly rather than considering environmental impact. These products are often short-lived and swiftly fall out of trend. Opt for slow fashion brands and charity shops instead of fast fashion, where garments are crafted to endure for years, all while considering environmental concerns.
